Jessica Robertson Signs with GU Basketball

Lamoni, IA - The Graceland women's basketball program and head coach Rich Harrop are proud to announce the signing of Jessica Robertson to the 2012 squad.

Robertson, a Lebo, Kan. native, will be heading to Lamoni next season to contribute to a talented women's basketball squad. The 5-foot-10 high school senior has already displayed her athletic ability at Lebo High School, participating on the volleyball, basketball and track teams.

During her time as a Wolf, Robertson accumulated numerous accolades in each sport. On the court, she was named second team All-County and an All-State honorable mention. As a volleyball player, she garnered second team All-State honors as a sophomore and during the 2011 track season, Robertson was a state qualifier in the one-mile run.

Robertson is a product of Kansas Lady Nets head coach, Mike Watkins. The Nets program is a long-standing developmental basketball program that develops female basketball players of high character and ability. As the head coach, Watkins has posted an impressive 315-35 record since the 2000 campaign.

"The coaching staff was immediately able to assess Jessica's ability not only as a hard-worker, but as a force to be reckoned with in the classroom," added Harrop. "She is constantly looking how to improve as a player and that is very attractive from a coaching perspective. Her height will assist her in becoming a strong player at the collegiate level."

Robertson excels off the court as well. Her extracurricular background also includes the Forensics team, the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America program.

Jessica is the daughter of Dan and Angela and will look to major in Pre-Medicine during her time at Graceland.

Welcome, Jessica, to the Graceland athletics' family.
