Head coach Todd Lorensen credited his team's two-way performance and tournament mindset.
"Plain and simple, our guys played really well on both ends of the basketball court tonight," Lorensen said. "Defensively we executed our matchups and schemes at a very high level, and on the offensive end we generated quality shots consistently. This time of year, whether you play great or not, you've got to turn the page quickly and start preparing for the next game, which we will certainly do."
Lorensen also emphasized the offensive balance displayed in the quarterfinal victory.
"Two guys with 20-plus points and four guys in double digits continues to show our depth offensively, and we added another guy with eight points as well. We will continue to need multiple guys scoring in double digits as the season continues."
On Lamberth's performance, Lorensen added:
"He was great tonight, and had he not been in foul trouble his stat line would've probably been very impressive. Even with that, he had 11 points and eight rebounds in limited minutes. The non-stat stuff was even more impressive."
The victory marks Graceland's first game of the Heart Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed, and the Yellowjackets advanced after dominating the 1-vs.-8 quarterfinal matchup on their home floor.
Graceland will return to action Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. CST against Central Methodist in the Heart Conference Tournament semifinal at the Morden Center on the campus of Graceland University.
