Football Defeated by Bobcats.

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University football took on the Peru State (Neb.) Bobcats.  The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Bobcats, 19-34, and moved to 3-7 and 1-3 in the conference.

 

Graceland (3-7, 1-3) vs. Peru State (5-5, 3-1)

Quarter 1 Graceland 13 | Peru State 0

At the seven-minute mark, the Yellowjackets would break the 0-0 score, from the pass by Judd Robert to Felix Wade for a 20- yards touchdown. The extra point by Joseph Sanchez was good. Graceland would hold a solid defense and force a punt late in the quarter to start their drive they would capitalize to find Peru State's endzone with a 24-yard Tre Blake touchdown.

 

Quarter 2: Graceland 6| Peru State 20

Graceland's defense would force the Bobcats to make a field goal early in the second quarter (13-3). Roberts would locate Gerald Monroe for a 19-yard touchdown. Peru State would block the extra point.

The Bobcats would find their groove to the Graceland endzone and add a two-point conversion (19-11). Peru's defense would take down Adarius Thomas for a team safety (19-13). The Bobcats would add their final touchdown of the second quarter, a 17-yard pass to head into halftime with a score of 19-20.

 

Quarter 3: Graceland 0 | Peru State 14

Late into the third quarter, the Bobcats would maximize their play, adding two touchdowns and both extra points. With 26-seconds left on the clock, John L'Heureux would make an interception for a 33-yard return heading into the fourth quarter.

 

Quarter 4: Graceland 0| Peru State 0

Both teams came out on fire in the fourth quarter, and held a strong defense. The Yellowjackets would end the quarter with the longest drive of 9 plays and 45-yards.

The Yellowjackets will be back on their home field on Saturday, November 12 when they take on the William Penn (Iowa) Statesmen on Senior Day. Kick-off is set for 1:00 pm, and the Senior Day presentation will happen prior to game time.
