Bio
Randall Porter enters his third season as Head Coach of the Graceland University Women’s Soccer Program, leading a confident and determined rebuild aimed at returning the Yellowjackets to national prominence. Since taking over a struggling program in 2023, Porter has instilled a renewed competitive culture and guided steady progress each year.
After a tough opening campaign in 2023 (2-14-2, 0-10-1 Heart), the Yellowjackets responded in 2024 with a 6-9-3 overall record and a 3-7-1 mark in conference play, highlighted by Chloe Montera earning All-Conference honors. The jump in performance under Porter reflects the program’s upward trajectory and the early stages of a long-term vision centered on discipline, development, and competitive success.
Now, heading into the 2025 season, the program has momentum — with a strong returning core and another exciting recruiting class that includes a personal highlight: Coach Porter’s daughter, Alexis (“Lexi”), has committed to play for Graceland and will join the Yellowjackets as a freshman in the fall.
Porter brings a championship pedigree to Graceland, having won 14 Kansas Youth State Championships and a US Youth Soccer Regional title as a club coach. Before joining Graceland, he served as the Girls Academy League Director for Kansas Rush Soccer Club, one of the top girls’ youth leagues in the country. His extensive coaching background also includes roles with Sporting Blue Valley, Sporting Kansas City Academy, and as head coach of the Kansas Magic, a professional indoor team. He also assisted with Graceland’s men’s program in 2006.
A Graceland alum himself, Porter played collegiately under Coach Ivan Joseph, then went on to play semi-professionally with the Kansas City Brass and professionally with the Sacramento Knights, who drafted him in the first round of the indoor league draft. He holds a USSF C License and NSCAA National Director of Coaching License.
Coach Porter is married to Heather, also a Graceland graduate and a kindergarten teacher in the Liberty School District. Their son, Lucas, is a student-athlete on the Graceland men’s soccer team, while Lexi begins her journey in the women’s program this fall, making Graceland Soccer a true family tradition.
