Lamoni, IA - Head coach Fred Wagenaar and the Graceland women's soccer team are pleased to announce the signing of Brooke Douglas of Overland Park, Kansas.

Douglas, the daughter of Jay and Sareah Douglas, is also the niece of Graceland head football coach, Jeff Douglas. Brooke will be a third generation Yellowjacket following in the footsteps of both her parents and grandparents who attended GU.

Douglas is a lightning-quick midfielder/defender combo who brings tremendous upside to the already-loaded women's soccer team.

"We are very pleased to sign a player of Brooke's caliber," said Coach Fred Wagenaar. "She plays on a very good club team and is a versatile player; able to play defense or midfield."

Brooke attends Olathe East HS and will bring a winning mentality to the Jackets next season. Olathe East is coming off of an undefeated, 21-0-0 state championship team in 2012.

When not playing soccer, Douglas is active in National Honor Society and has volunteered her time at The Refuge in Overland Park, Kansas.

"Brooke is a smart player, able to read the play and has the physical fitness and quickness to be able to win the ball and start an immediate attack," added Wagenaar. "She is also an honors student, who I am sure will do great things in the classroom as well."
