Gonzalez Signs With Yellowjackets Soccer Program

Lamoni, IA - Coach Fred Wagenaar continues to ink his 2011 recruiting class with the recent signing of Daniela Gonzalez, a 5'6 midfielder from Caracas, Venezuela.

Gonzalez is the daughter of Omar Gonzalez and Coromoto Chacon, sister to Omar and Ramon and she will be studying accounting while attending Graceland. During her high school career at Colegio Simon Bolivar II, Daniela received athletic honors for participating with the indoor soccer team as well as academics honors for a high grade point average. In addition to playing for her high school, Gonzales played for the Caracas Futbol Club under Coach Enzo Tropiano as well as UCAB Spirit of the First Division under Coach Rolando Bello.

After signing Gonzalez, Coach Wagenaar said, "We are simply delighted to bring in a player of Daniela's caliber. She is a very technical player, and her skill level will greatly add to our team's ability to play a good possession game. Daniela's vision in the mid-field, coupled with her passing ability, will make a positive impact offensively as well. Further, Dani's friendly personality makes her a wonderful addition to the chemistry of the team, and we all look forward to working with her in the coming years," finished Wagenaar.

Congratulations Daniela and welcome to Graceland University and the Yellowjacket athletics family.
