Women's Soccer Program Inks Leslie Carroll
Carroll comes to the Jackets from Spring Valley High School and brings with her years of soccer accolades including lettering in varsity soccer all four years and being named All-Southwest division as a freshman and All-Southwest Division, All-Sunset, All-Southern Nevada and All-State team in both her junior and senior seasons. While at Spring Valley, Leslie was coached by Graceland soccer alumni Jay Tippett who introduced Leslie to Graceland University. Additionally, Leslie is a part of a nationally ranked club team, Neusport '93 who have been state champions for the past seven years. Along with playing soccer in high school Leslie participated in volleyball, track and golf. Outside of sports, Carroll served as a member of student council government, the blue crew and the Bible club at Spring Valley. Leslie plans on studying Elementary Education while at Graceland in addition to playing for the women's soccer team.
When asked about the recent signing, Head Coach Wagenaar said, "Graceland
University is excited and proud to have Leslie Carroll join the Lady
Yellowjackets. She is a gifted player, and we believe she will make an
immediate impact in the mid-field. More importantly, Leslie is a player with
tremendous character, and she will contribute a lot to our positive team
chemistry and spirit. She is the type of player and person that will provide
outstanding leadership for the team, and be a wonderful asset to the University
as a whole as well."
Congratulations Leslie and welcome to the Yellowjacket family.
