Late Raven Goal Ends GU Winning Streak

Lamoni, IA-The Graceland women's soccer was in action Thursday night in Lamoni facing a determined Benedictine Raven squad.

In what would prove to be a defensive battle from both teams, Graceland's eight game winning streak came to an end as the match finished in a 1-1 double overtime tie.

The Jackets only goal came early in the first half as senior forward Chelsea Phillips (Granada Hills, CA) scored from inside the 18-yard box off of a beautiful assist from Shay Eskridge (Rowlett, TX). The score would remain that way the rest of the first half and clear until the waning moments of the second half when Benedictine was able to score the equalizer in the 83rd minute. With neither team able to find the back of the net in overtime, the match ended in a 1-1 tie.

The #6 Jackets now stand at 13-1-1 overall and 6-0-1 in HAAC play. Graceland continues HAAC play on Saturday (October 30th) as they head to Lindenwood for a 5:00pm match with the Lions.
