Graceland Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Home Invitational

Results

LAMONI, Iowa — The Graceland University women's golf team placed tied for fourth at the Graceland Invitational on Tuesday at Lamoni Golf and Country Club (5,974 yards, par 72). The Yellowjackets carded a team score of 421 (+133) to finish alongside North Central Missouri, gaining valuable competitive experience on their home course.

Peru State (A) captured the team title with a 357 (+69), edging Central Methodist by three shots at 360 (+72). Peru State's B squad finished third at 408 (+120).

Individual Performances

The Yellowjackets were led by Rylee Zimmerman, who posted a 93 (+21) to finish seventh overall. Zimmerman's steady play off the tee and composure around the greens gave Graceland its top finish.

Kennedy Jones followed with a 99 (+27), tying for 14th, while Macy Schilb turned in a 100 (+28) to tie for 16th. Emma Jenkins completed the lineup with a 129 (+57), placing 26th individually.

Coach's Perspective

Head coach Kevin Brunner highlighted the importance of competing on the home course and the developmental strides made by his players.

"Our team showed discipline in ball striking and course management today," Brunner said. "We recognize the areas we need to improve, especially in putting efficiency and recovery shots, but I was encouraged by the way we competed as a group. Hosting the invitational allowed our players to test themselves in familiar conditions while gaining confidence against strong competition."

Field Overview

The 27-player field included multiple Heart of America teams and regional opponents. Peru State's Joslyn Johnson earned medalist honors with an 84 (+12). She was followed by Reagan Bell of Central Methodist and Jamie Alex Barnett of Peru State, who each carded 85 (+13) to tie for second.

Other highlights included Lauren Williams (Central Methodist) in fourth with an 86 (+14) and Jersey Odgaard (Peru State) in fifth at 89 (+17).

Graceland's presence among the top 20 individual scores demonstrated progress for the young Yellowjackets squad, which continues to focus on short-game precision and overall scoring consistency.

The Graceland women's golf team will compete Sept. 26-27 at the Peru State Invitational at Golf Club at Table Creek in Nebraska City, Neb.
