Graceland Women’s Golf Completes at Simpson Invite

INDIANOLA, Iowa — The Graceland University women's golf team competed at the Simpson Invite on Wednesday at Indianola Country Club (5,670 yards, par 71). The Yellowjackets placed 12th overall with a team score of 458 in a field that included NAIA, junior college and NCAA Division III programs.

Hawkeye Community College, Waldorf and Loras shared the team title, each finishing at even par 284.

Rylee Zimmerman led Graceland with a 94 (+23), good for 49th individually. Kennedy Jones shot 104 (+33), while Macy Schilb carded 112 (+41). Emma Jenkins completed the lineup with a 148 (+77).

Head coach Kevin Brunner emphasized the value of the event for his team's development.

"The Simpson Invite provided our players with a chance to compete under pressure and focus on key areas of course management," Brunner said. "We know where we need to improve, particularly in consistency around the greens, and this will help us prepare for our next event."

The Yellowjackets will now shift their focus to hosting duties. The team will compete in the Graceland Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. CDT at the Lamoni Golf and Country Club in Lamoni, Iowa.
