Zimmerman Leads Yellowjackets to Fourth-Place Finish at Hawkeye Fall Shootout
WAVERLY, Iowa – Sept. 18, 2025 – The Graceland University women's golf team opened its 2025-26 campaign with a fourth-place team finish at the Hawkeye Fall Shootout, hosted at Waverly Municipal Golf Course. The Yellowjackets posted a team score of +153, placing behind Hawkeye CC [A], North Iowa Area CC, and Southeastern CC.
Senior Rylee Zimmerman led the way for Graceland, carding an 87 (+15) to place fourth overall in the field and earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
"It is great to see Rylee play well and show some senior leadership in helping the team get off to a respectable start," said head coach Kevin Brunner. "If she can continue to play at that level and we can bring the freshmen along throughout the year, then we should be able to show steady improvement."
Zimmerman was the lone Yellowjacket to finish inside the top 10, with Macy Schilb placing 18th overall at +32, and Kennedy Jones finishing 21st at +41. Freshman Emma Jenkins rounded out the scoring for Graceland, finishing 23rd with a +65.
The event featured a mix of four-year and two-year collegiate programs. Hawkeye Community College [A] won the event with a team score of +71, followed closely by North Iowa Area CC at +74. Southeastern CC (IA) placed third at +125, just ahead of Graceland's +153. Hawkeye CC [B] finished fifth at +171.
On the individual leaderboard, three players tied for medalist honors at +12, including Danielle Randick (North Iowa Area CC), Grace Burg (Hawkeye CC), and Sophie Malott (Southeastern CC). Zimmerman followed in sole fourth with her +15 finish.
