#23 Graceland Wrestling Tops St. Ambrose, Extends Dual Win Streak to 4-0

DAVENPORT, Iowa - The nationally ranked No. 23 Graceland University men's wrestling team continued its undefeated start to the season with a 25-15 victory over St. Ambrose University in a dual meet held on the campus of St. Ambrose in Davenport, Iowa. This win brings the Yellowjackets' record to 4-0, adding to their strong start in the 2024 season.

The dual opened at 125 pounds, where Graceland's Clemente Delgado claimed a decisive 7-1 decision over Michael Chagnon. Delgado's solid control from the neutral position and effective work on top gave him an early lead, setting the pace for the Yellowjackets with three team points.

At 133 pounds, Riley Harger kept the momentum going with a dominant technical fall, defeating Jacob Alexander 16-0 in 6:30. Harger's aggressive approach and consistent takedowns allowed him to secure five more points for Graceland.

After St. Ambrose scored with a technical fall at 141 pounds, Graceland responded with Ryan Anderson at 149 pounds, who pinned Tate O'Shea at the 4:15 mark. Anderson's pinfall contributed six points to the team score, extending Graceland's lead.

At 174 pounds, Jett Nelson recorded another technical fall for the Yellowjackets, overpowering Anthony Sartori 16-0 in just 4:11. Nelson's swift control and relentless pressure added five points to Graceland's total.

In a competitive 184-pound match, KJ Fry showcased resilience, securing an 18-11 decision over Colin O'Grady. Fry's ability to counter and capitalize on scoring opportunities contributed three more points for the Yellowjackets.

The final bout at heavyweight saw Kazz Hyson close out the dual with a solid 7-0 decision over Jeremiah Morris. Hyson's victory, marked by dominant positioning and control, added the final three points to Graceland's tally, sealing the team's 25-15 victory.

The Yellowjackets will next compete on Saturday, November 16, at the Grand View Open in Des Moines, Iowa—one of the largest collegiate wrestling events of the year, drawing over 700 competitors. Graceland's wrestlers will face some of the top talent in the nation as they prepare for continued success this season.
