Wrestling Defeated by St. Ambrose
Davenport, Iowa – The Graceland University Wrestling team dueled the St. Ambrose University Fighting Bees. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the Fighting Bees 6-31 and move to 5-3 on the season.
Following a double forfeit in the opening 125 lbs weight class, the score remains scoreless.
Starting the Yellowjackets off, in the 133 lbs weight class, Riece Graham took on the Fighting Bees Steele Dias. Dias would take the first match with a decision (5-11). The score moves in favor of St. Ambrose 0-3.
Next, Joe Lupton (GU) would take down Riley Woods (SAU) in a decision in the 141 lbs weight class. The score now even 3-3.
The Yellowjacket's Jackson Wenberg would set to the mat to take on the Fighting Bees Daniel Terronez in the 1499 lbs weight class. Terronez would take the major decision (4-12) and the lead 3-7.
The Fighting Bees would get their first pin of the night in the match-up between Devin West (GU) and Diego Machado (SAU). The score now 3-13.
In the following weight class, 157 lbs. St. Ambrose's Jayden Terronez would pin Graceland's, Invi Bella. St. Ambrose leads 3-19.
In the next match-up between Mark Leija (GU) and Chris Bridges (SAU) in the 174 lbs. weight class. Bridges would take the win by fall. The score now 3-25.
Cameron Cornman (GU) would take a victory by decision (3-1) over Dylan Meibers (SAU) in the 197 lbs weight class. The score now 6-25.
The final weight class of the night featured Graceland's John Schuttler and St. Ambrose's Tyler Casey. Casey would win by decision (7-13) to end the score at 6-31.

The Wrestling team will be back on the mats on Saturday February 4, when they travel to the Missouri Valley College Open. The tournament will start at 9:00 am.
