Wrestling Halted by the Vikings
Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Wrestling team dueled the Grand View University (Iowa) Vikings. The Yellowjackets were defeated 0-51 and move to 3-2 on the season.
Starting the Yellowjackets off for the night, in the 125-lb weight class TJ Smith took on the Viking's Luke Fogleman. The Vikings would take the first match from Fogleman pin, putting the contest at 0-6.
In the following weight class, 133 lbs, Riley Harger (GU) would step to the mat against Esco Walker (GV). The Vikings would take the class by Tech Fall (0-16). The score is now 0-11.
The Vikings would add a win by Tech Fall (0-15) in the 141lbs weight class from the match-up of Graceland's Zack Wicks and Grand View's Ben Murphy. The score is now 0-16.
The Vikings Blake Gonzalez would follow next with his victory of tech fall (0-15) over the Yellowjacket's Devin West. The team score is now 0-22.
The next weight class was 157 lbs, and Colby Wilken (GU) would take on Giovanny Bonilla (GV). Grand View would add a tech fall (0-16) to take the class. The score is now 0-27.
Jeraimiah Nyberg would step up to take on Grand View's Tanner Abbas. Abbas would win by pin, shifting the score to 0-33.
In the following weight class, 174 lbs, Mark Leija (GU) would be taken down by Isaiah Luellen (GV) by tech fall (1-17). The score is now 0-38.
Graceland's Brody Saltzman would take on the 184 lbs weight class, and Grand View's Ben Lee would take the class by pin. The score is now 0-44.
The Vikings would add a win by major decision in the 197 lbs weight class from the match-up of Graceland's John Schuttler and Grand View's Owen Braungardt. The score is now 0-48.
The final weight class of the night featured Graceland's Sam Fleming and Grand Views Tommy Mommer. Mommer would win by decision (1-6) and ended the score at 0-51.
