Men and Women's Tennis Fall to Drury University

Springfield, MO - The Graceland women and #16 ranked men's tennis teams traveled to take on the Panthers of Drury University looking to grab some wins. However, the Panthers had other plans dropping both the men and women's team 9-0.

Despite the score on the men's side, many of the matches were very close, including a number of the singles competitions.

"Blanked by a very good and well coached Dll school," said Head Coach Joel Loving. "Drury has an excellent tennis program, but we fought hard in every match and I was proud of our men's team."

The loss drops Graceland's men's squad to 2-3-1 overall, as they will look to rebound Saturday, February 20th when they travel to Oklahoma Baptist University. The match is scheduled to start at 12pm.

The women were also defeated 9-0 by the Panthers.

"We played hard in every match," said Coach Loving. "Drury is an especially tough team to play. "Jessica is playing through an injury and exemplifies our never quit attitude. I was proud of our attitude in each player. We'll come back stronger Saturday."

The loss drops Graceland's women to 1-5 overall, as they travel with the men's team to take on Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday. The match is also scheduled to start at 12pm.
