Yellowjackets Win Big Against Grand View University

Lamoni, IA - The Graceland men and women's tennis teams were able to pull off wins over Grand View University yesterday morning. The men won 7-2 while the women defeated the Vikings 5-3.

Jessica Worring led the way in #1 singles 6-0,6-0, along with Ilse Karina Cardiel at #3, a 6-4,6-4 winner. Worring and Alejandra Diaz Mares won at #1 doubles 8-1.

On the men's side, Graceland was able to win all of is official matches in doubles and singles. This will aid in GU's confidence as they now head to regionals in Chicago.

"We played well in our home opener with a strong showing from both the men and women," said Head Coach Joel Loving. "Our opponents from Grand View are well coached and it was nice to pick up a win in our conference.I would like to thank everyone who came out to support our players. It really makes a difference and we really appreciate it."

Both teams will now prepare for the ITA Regionals which are being held at Olivet Nazarene University, in Bourbonnais, IL. They will be September, 24th-26th.
