Men't Tennis Arrives In Alabama

Mobile, AL - The Graceland men's tennis team arrived in Mobile, AL ahead of its first round duel set to take place on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday morning at 8:30 am the GU men's tennis team will take on McPherson College in the first round of the 2015 NAIA National Tennis Championships.

But first, they had to get there.

The two-day bus trip spanned over 1000 miles and more than 17 hours. The trip was largely uneventful if not tedious.

As we began the trip, Lorenzo Panarati, battling sickness, was quarantined to the back corner of the bus as his teammates opted for personal health over sympathy. Leaving from the Hampton Center at approximately 11:00 am on Saturday morning, the first leg of our journey took us to just south of St. Louis for dinner at Panda Express.

The short reprieve from our mobile prison was a welcome relief. Then is was back in to the bus for another several hours before we finally stopped for the night in Blythville, AR.

We had a nice breakfast at the hotel before hitting the road again at a leisurely 9:00 am. The sun was shining and everyone was in good spirits as we began the second day of travel.

After a few brief stops along the way, we finally reached Mobile just in time for our hitting session on the courts at 5:30 pm. It took a while for the guys to work out the stiff muscles, but everyone was happy to out in the fresh air.

After a nice dinner at the Olive Garden, it was on to the Renaissance Riverview Plaza for our tournament check-in.

Check back tomorrow evening to find out more about the adventure!
