Reserve Yellowjackets Battle Benedictine in High-Scoring Match, Fall 4–3

LAMONI, Iowa — The Reserve Yellowjackets took the field Saturday at noon for a thrilling home match against the Benedictine Ravens at the Rasmussen Sports Complex. The contest featured high energy, quality chances on both sides, and a display of resilience that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

From the opening whistle, the match was fast-paced and fiercely contested, with both teams generating early scoring opportunities. At the half, the scoreboard reflected the balance of play with a 1–1 deadlock.

The second half brought even more intensity. Henry Henderson was named Man of the Match, delivering a goal and relentless midfield pressure that drove the Yellowjackets forward. His energy set the tone and inspired the attack throughout the half.

Max Dutton and Ryan Gourzong Jr. each added goals for Graceland, keeping the Yellowjackets in step during a back-and-forth affair. The goalkeeper tandem of Dither Beltran and Landon Wickham combined for several key stops, helping to keep the game within reach.

On the defensive side, Jack Van Den Oetelaar stood out with a composed and gritty performance at left back, anchoring the back line with smart positioning and physicality.

Despite a valiant effort and four goals on the afternoon, the Yellowjackets came up just short, falling 4–3 in a match that showcased their growth and tenacity.

Graceland returns to action on Monday, Oct. 20, when they host Metropolitan Community College at 6:30 p.m. back at the Rasmussen Sports Complex. The team looks to build on the energy and execution displayed in Saturday's contest.
