Graceland’s Mario Salinas Named Heart Second Team All-Conference
LAMONI, Iowa — Graceland University senior forward Mario Salinas has been named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Second Team, recognizing his standout 2025 season and growth as a leader within the program.
A 5-foot-6 forward from Monterrey, Mexico, Salinas played in 16 games with 15 starts, leading the Yellowjackets in scoring with 6 goals and 1 assist, totaling 13 points. He tallied 34 shots, with a .176 shot percentage and 18 shots on goal, converting 2-of-2 penalty kicks. Salinas also logged consistent minutes in the attack, finishing as one of the most reliable offensive threats for Graceland in 2025.
"It's great to see Mario get recognized for all his hard work," said Head Coach Bryan Courtney. "He exemplifies what we want this program to be. Mario went from playing barely five minutes a game as a freshman to being an indispensable member of our team by his senior year.
He committed to putting the work in each offseason—doing the little things, improving his technical, tactical, and physical facets—and was dogged in his persistence."
Salinas' efforts helped lead a young Yellowjackets squad through a competitive Heart schedule. Graceland finished the season 3–11–3 overall and 2–9–2 in conference play, with Salinas playing a major role in all three victories.
He is the lone Yellowjacket to earn All-Conference recognition for the 2025 season.
