Graceland University Signs Standout Goalkeeper Yuta Hirano for Spring 2025 Season

Lamoni, Iowa – Graceland University is proud to welcome Yuta Hirano to the Yellowjackets men's soccer program. A dynamic goalkeeper from Tokyo, Japan, Hirano joins the squad for the Spring 2025 season, bringing elite shot-stopping ability, agility, and leadership to Graceland's defensive unit.

Hirano transfers from Eastern Florida State College, where he excelled both on the field and in the classroom as an accounting major and academic honors student. His dedication to both athletics and academics aligns perfectly with Graceland's commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes.

A proven winner at the collegiate level, Hirano's career has been nothing short of remarkable. While at Iowa Lakes Community College, he played a key role in leading the team to the 2023 NJCAA Division II National Championship, earning NJCAA National Tournament MVP, Defensive MVP, and United Soccer Coaches All-American honors. He continued his success at Eastern Florida State, helping his team capture the 2024 NJCAA Region 8 Division I Championship and the 2024 NJCAA Division I Southeast District Championship, ultimately reaching the NJCAA Division I National Semifinals.

Beyond the soccer field, Hirano is a multi-talented athlete with a background in basketball and judo, showcasing his versatility and competitive spirit.
