Men's Golf Finished Day Two of Competition at the Klocke Family Classic

MARION, IA- The Graceland men's golf team completed the second round of the Klocke Family Classic hosted by Mount Mercy University on Sunday at the Hunters Ridge Golf Course.

Graceland had a tough second day out on the links. The Jackets finished the two-day event with a score of 649 (+73) to finish 14th out of 15 teams. Iowa Western Community College won the event with a score of 579 (+3). Three of Iowa Westerns golfers shot under par.

"I think we need to believe in ourselves in order to be successful," said Kevin Brunner, head coach. "The mental game is such a large part of golf. I am confident we can improve but individually we need to believe."

Leading the way for Graceland was sophomore Jordan Lester who compiled a score of 159 (+15) finished in 54th. He shot an 80 the first day, turning around to card a 79 on the second day. Currin was two strokes behind Lester with a 161 (79-82). Mark Fink had a challenging day on the course with an 87 in the second round. He totaled a 164 to tie for 64th. Steven Shaw and Carter rounded out Graceland's team with scores of 165 and 179, respectively.
