Bio

Jaelin Ferrell enters his third season as a collegiate basketball coach, bringing a strong background in player development, recruiting, and program growth. Most recently, he served as the JV Head Coach and Graduate Assistant for Men’s Basketball at Shorter University, where he helped lead the program to its first conference tournament appearance and highest win total since the 2016–17 season.

Before transitioning into coaching, Ferrell enjoyed a decorated playing career. At Owens Community College, he earned All-Conference, All-Region, and All-District honors, became a 1,000-point scorer, and established himself as one of the nation’s most prolific three-point shooters. He later continued his career at Dalton State College, where he earned All-Conference recognition, served as a two-year team captain, and led the team in both three-pointers made and three-point percentage.

As a coach, Ferrell specializes in player development, recruiting, scouting, and academic support. He has recruited multiple All-Conference players while helping student-athletes maximize their potential both on and off the court. His experience includes scouting through Hudl and Synergy, coordinating team operations, organizing recruiting efforts, and developing individualized training programs.

In addition to his collegiate coaching responsibilities, Ferrell has been heavily involved in grassroots basketball through Ohio Basketball, helping organize and operate premier events, including Run 4 the Roses, the largest girls’ AAU basketball tournament in the world.

Ferrell earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness from Dalton State College and an MBA in Healthcare Management from Shorter University. His passion for mentorship, player development, and building winning cultures continues to drive his success in the coaching profession.
