Men's Basketball Stings the Wildcats on Senior Day

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Basketball team went up against the Baker University Wildcats and defeated the Wildcats 68-65. They move 17-9 on the season and are 12-8 in the Heart.

Half 1: Graceland 33 | Baker 26
The Yellowjackets raced to an early 10-2 lead (Seth Compas, Winslow Martin, C.J. Wilson and Trenton Daughtry contributed) and would increase their lead to eight with a jumper from C.J. Wilson (12-4). The Yellowjackets extended their lead to 12 with a 7-2 run midway through the half. Baker would answer with a five-point jump, to close their gap to seven (21-14). Martin would break the run from the deep; the Wildcats would add another five (24-19). The Half scoring would send with a Compas three-pointer and a layup by Aleksa Markovic (33-26); Graceland leads by seven heading to the locker rooms.
Half 2: Graceland 35 | Baker 39
The second half would start competitive both teams trading baskets. The Wildcats were able to close their deficit to four with a 6-3 run (56-62); C.J. Wilson broke up the run, sinking one from the deep. With under five minutes in the half, Winslow Martin and Seth Compas put up back to back three-pointer (66-57). With 20 seconds remaining on the clock, Baker would close their deficit to one with a free throw. Sam'i Roe would halt the Wildcats draining two from the line to pull ahead by three points for the victory.
