Men's Basketball Took Down the Pirates

Lamoni, Iowa. – The Graceland University Men's team were taken down by the Park (Mo.) University Pirate, 69-64. The Yellowjackets move to 15-9 on the season and are 10-8 in the Heart.

Half 1: Graceland 38 | Park 34
The Pirates started the game by sinking a three-pointer and taking a six-point lead (1-7). The Yellowjackets would answer with an 11-2 collection (12-9); Seth Compas would start the run with a jumper. Both teams would trade the point gain. With just under eight minutes, the Pirates would tie the score 23-23. C.J. Wilson would retake the lead from the deep (26-23). Moments later, Compas would start the Yellowjacket scoring run (34-25); Sam'i Roe would add to the run. Aleksa Markovic would end the half with the layup putting their advantage to four points.
Half 2: Graceland 31 | Park 30
Graceland would find a nine-point lead right from the gate, with A Seth Compas three-pointer and a tip-in by Trenton Daughtry (43-34). The Pirates would answer to close their deficit to two with a seven-point jump (44-41). Aleksa Markovic would break the Park run with his made layup. The Pirates would trail the Yellowjackets with points, closing their gap to one. A nine-point run by the Pirates would push them to take the advantage with just over five minutes remaining (61-62). Compas would push the Yellowjackets to take back the lead by cashing in six points (layup, free throw and three-pointer). Sam'i Roe would end the game with both made charity stripes. (69-64).
