Men's Basketball Bests the Ravens

Atchison, Kan. – The Graceland University Women's Basketball team were overcame the Benedictine College (Kan.) Ravens, 61-59. They move to 6-4 on the season and are 2-3 in the Heart.

The Yellowjackets would start the game with back-to-back points from beyond the arch made by Aleksa Markovic and Winslow Martin. The Ravens would tie the match at 13-13 (13:46-minute mark). Graceland's Seth Compas would regain the advantage with a made-field goal. The Ravens would answer late in the first half with an eight-point increase to trade the lead by one heading into the half with a score of 29-31.

Half 2: Graceland 32 | Benedictine 28
Both teams, in their groove, would put points for points up. Graceland's C.J. Wilson would tie the score 42-42 halfway through the score half (9:44 – minute mark). The lead would change four-time and tie twice. The Yellowjackets held their largest lead over the Ravens in the second half of six, and two made free throws by Wilson allowed the Yellowjackets to maintain their lead for the victory, 61-59.

Key Moment
A key layup late in the second half by Sam'i Roe would push the Yellowjackets to a lead of six. They would hold on to it. And in the remaining three minutes of play, Graceland would sink nine of the final 15 points.
