Men's Basketball Halted by The Lancers on Season Opener.
Yankton, S.D. – The Graceland University men's basketball team fell tonight when they took on the Mount Marty (S.D.) Lancers, 72-98. Graceland moves to 0-1 on the season.
Half 1: Graceland 31 | Mount Marty 59
The Lancers were able to get on the board fast and created a 0-13 lead for themselves. They continued to grow their advantage as the Yellowjackets fought to close it. Mount Marty would find themselves a 6-1 run (14-30). The Lancers would shoot 59 percent from the field goal, with 19-32 attempts made, and would hit 61 percent on three-point shots (14-23). The Yellowjackets would get an opportunity late in the half with a foul by the Lacers. The Lancers would hold on to the lead of 59-31 heading into the halftime
Half 2: Graceland 41 | Mount Marty 39
The Yellowjackets were able to get on the board first. The Lancers would hold their highest advantage over the Yellowjackets of 34-points. 11 Graceland would go on to produce an 11-point run to close the gap to 67 – 90, but the Lancers were able to hold their lead for the victory.
