Bio

Coach Caitlin Shannon enters her third year with the Graceland University women’s flag football program and has been named Associate Head Coach ahead of the 2026 season. She continues to play a pivotal role in the growth of the program, having transitioned into a full-time coaching position following a unique first season in 2024, where she balanced responsibilities as both a quarterback and assistant coach.

Originally from Henderson, Nevada, Coach Shannon holds a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She began her collegiate athletic career at Concordia University Irvine, competing in track and field alongside current Graceland Coach Richardson—though by all accounts, she was the faster of the two.

A standout multi-sport athlete in high school, Shannon competed in soccer, cross country, track and field, and flag football. As a junior, she led her high school flag football team to an undefeated 22–0 season and a Nevada state championship as the starting quarterback, earning team MVP honors.

Now fully focused on coaching, Shannon is passionate about player development and advancing the sport at the collegiate level. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she works with Graceland’s Student Success Center and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Nutrition and Performance.

Outside of football, she enjoys hiking, biking, listening to music, and exploring the outdoors—with a coffee in hand.
