Three Yellowjackets Earn Heart Football All-Conference Status
LAMONI - Earlier this week, the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) announced the 2020 Football All-Conference honorees and winners of the major postseason awards. All of the conference postseason awards were voted on by each head coach in the league. Graceland had three individuals earn All-Conference status, all on the Honorable Mention list.
Tevin Cameron, Aidan Simonson, and Tony Toledo earned the recognition for their play this season.
Cameron, a junior linebacker from Grant City, Mo., had a team-high 38 tackles and two sacks in the shortened season. He averaged 9.5 tackles per game which ranked 15th nationally in the NAIA.
Simonson, a freshman punter from Fort Dodge, Iowa, averaged nearly 40 yards per punt on the season in 29 punts. He had two punts over 60 yards including a 68-yarder at Grand View in October. Simonson's 37.5 yard average was 16th best in the NAIA in the fall.
Toldeo, a senior linebacker from Burbank, Calif., was 2nd on the team in tackles this season with 31. Through five games, he had 19 solo tackles, a tackle for loss, and one sack.
Despite issues with COVID-19, the football program was able to complete five of its scheduled contests this past fall. To view the complete list of the Heart's Football All-Conference awards, click here.
