Home Football Game Versus Evangel Canceled

LAMONI - The upcoming football game between Graceland University and Evangel University, originally scheduled for November 14, has been canceled. The decision for the cancellation was decided by each institution's president on Monday, November 9.

"This decision was made out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our student-athletes," stated Commissioner Lori Thomas. "The conference and teams are adhering to the outlined guidelines in the Heart Promise."

The decision comes after contact tracing and cautionary quarantine procedures were enacted. Delaying the game will allow student-athletes to return to the field of play in the safest manner possible by allowing the appropriate time for practice and physical reconditioning.

The cancellation of Saturday's game also cancels the senior day activities planned for this final home game of the season. Coaches for Graceland Football will present senior student-athletes with individual recognition for the hard work they have put in throughout their time as members of the Graceland football team. Graceland is scheduled to play their final game Thursday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m. against Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. To view the Yellowjackets' updated football schedule, click here.
