Graceland Football Defeated at Missouri Valley
LAMONI - The Graceland University Football team was defeated earlier today in Marshall, Missouri against the Missouri Valley College Vikings. Missouri Valley won their season opener 38-0 over the Yellowjackets.
The Vikings got on the board with 5:00 to play in the opening quarter after a 3-play, 92-yard drive. They converted their two-point conversion to go up 8-0. Missouri Valley scored on two more 90-plus yard drives before the half to take a 22-0 lead into halftime.
Missouri Valley's final points would come with 10:51 on the clock in the fourth quarter. The final ten minutes were scoreless where drives ended in punts.
Graceland had just 159 total yards of offense compared to Missouri Valley's 509 for the game. The Yellowjackets will be back home for their next contest October 3 at 1 p.m. They will host Evangel University at Huntsman Field. The Crusaders are currently 0-2 after losses to Culver-Stockton and Grand View in the first two weeks of the season.
