Graceland Football Falls in Peru, 34-3
PERU, NEB. - The Graceland University football team wrapped up their season today as they played their regular season finale versus the Peru State College Bobcats. Peru State won by a final score of 34-3.
Graceland put the first points on the board in the game as Carson Quint had an interception to set up short field for the Yellowjacket offense. Christopher Morris made a 20-yard field goal to secure points on the drive to make it 3-0 with 6:26 left in the first quarter.
The Yellowjackets forced three Peru State turnovers in the first quarter, but trailed 7-3 as both teams entered the 2nd quarter. Unable to build off of some Peru State miscues, Graceland was left without points the remainder of the half. The Bobcats scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 24-3 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Peru State would add 10 points on to their total and keep Graceland scoreless. Graceland was in four-down territory much of the half, but went 0-4 on fourth down conversions.
With the loss, Graceland finishes its season 0-5 in the Heart's North division and 0-11 overall. Peru State finished their season winning two of their last three games and going 2-9 overall.
