Graceland Falls at William Penn 53-24

OSKALOOSA - William Penn outscored Graceland 33-0 in the second half after trailing at halftime to help them win 53-24.

After being down 7-0 early, Graceland's offense put together a 12-play, 75-yard drive. The drive was capped off with an Antoine Williams II touchdown pass to Donte Sylencieux for 13 yards. Christopher Morris would hit the extra point to tie the game at 7.

William Penn quickly answered with a scoring drive of their own to take back the lead at 14-7. The Yellowjacket offense would work their way down the field once again. Williams II would find Caleb Thomas for a 5-yard touchdown to make it 14-14.

The Statesmen would answer right back and take a 20-14 lead just minutes later. After the missed extra point, William Penn would kick it back to the Graceland return team. Catching it at his own nine yard line, Thomas would take the kickoff back to the house for a 91-yard kick return. Morris would make the PAT to give Graceland its first lead of the game.

Morris would then make a 42 yard field goal as time expired in the first half to give the Yellowjackets a 24-20 lead.

The second half would be a different story for the Graceland offense as they were held scoreless. William Penn dominated the half of both sides of the ball and scored 33 points in the second half to lead them to a comeback win on their Homecoming. In the end, the Statesmen would win the game 53-24.

Graceland will now prepare for their Homecoming game against Clarke University who will be coming off of their first win in program history. The game is set to kick off at 2 pm next Saturday. The Yellowjackets are still searching for their first win of the season and will look to get it against the Pride.
