Robinson Fills Out Coaching Staff
LAMONI, IOWA – First-year head football coach Nate Robinson has completed his initial coaching staff with the addition of five new assistant coaches. Robinson announced the hiring of Reginald Byarse Jr., Gilbert White, David Carr, and William Lawrence.
Reginald Byarse, Jr.
Byarse is entering his first season with the Yellowjackets as the Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach. Overall, this is his 12th season of coaching which includes nine years as a high school coordinator and three years in the college ranks. In addition, he has been the Special Teams Coordinator and Linebackers Coach the past two seasons at the FCS National Bowl, an annual post-season college football all-star game. Last season, Byarse was the Defensive Coordinator at Landry-Walker High School in New Orleans.
White enters his first season on the Yellowjacket football staff as the Defensive Backs Coach. The Chicago native has experience coaching footbal at both the high school level and collegiate level. White was a Graduate Assistant at Missouri Baptist University where he received his Master's in Sports Management. Previously, White was the Secondary Coach at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. There he served as the JV Defensive Coordinator, assisted in Football Operations, and was the Video Coordinator.
Carr is entering his first season as part of the Graceland University coaching staff as the Offensive Line Coach. Carr brings more than two decades of coaching experience to Graceland at both the collegiate and high school levels. Most recently, he was at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. He was the Quarterbacks Coach in 2017 then named the Running Backs coach for the 2018 season.
Lawrence, a Graceland alum and former defensive end for the Yellowjackets, enters his inaugural season on the coaching staff. This season he will be coaching the Defensive Line and work with Strength and Conditioning. Most recently, Lawrence was a part of the coaching staff at Missouri Valley College as the Outside Linebackers Coach.
In addition, Zac Goering will join the staff this season as a Student Assistant. Both Bill Dudek and Dewey Clark will return to their previous duties to round out the members of the coaching staff.
Coach Robinson and the Yellowjackets open the 2019 season at home on Saturday, August 31, versus the Benedictine College Ravens at 6 pm.
