Graceland Dance Places Sixth at KWU Coyote Classic
SALINA, Kan. — The Graceland University Yellowjackets secured a sixth-place finish at the Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Classic Cheer and Dance Competition, held January 30 at Mabee Arena in Salina, Kansas.
Graceland scored 83.75 in the NAIA-sanctioned dance competition, outperforming Friends, Saint Mary and Missouri Valley. The performance featured a jazz-pom hybrid routine that emphasized synchronized visuals, dynamic formation transitions and turn sequences—key elements in NAIA competitive dance evaluation.
The Yellowjackets' routine was assessed on execution, choreography and overall effect. Judges noted consistency in timing, visual impact and endurance throughout the set. With the season entering a pivotal phase, Graceland continues to emphasize technical routine composition and performance quality in upcoming meets.
