Baseball Signs Ashtin Brand

LAMONI - Graceland University's head baseball coach, Brady McKillip, recently annouced the signing of Ashtin Brand.

Ashtin is a local commit from Albia, Iowa and will be joining the Yellowjacket baseball program in the fall. Having experience at multiple positions on the field defensively, he will be used as a utility player.

In Brand's junior season, he started in all 28 games he played in. In 94 at bats for the season, he recorded 31 hits including nine doubles and two home runs. Overall, he batted .330 and had a .382 on base percentage. Brand held a slugging percentage of .489 and compiled 17 RBI. He also had three stolen bases in three attempts.

McKillip commented, "We are very excited to get Ashtin in a Graceland Uniform for next year. He is a Utility player that can play just about anywhere on the field. Very athletic and we feel he has a bright future here at Graceland. We are excited to call him a Yellowjacket."

The Graceland University Athletic Department and the baseball program are excited to have Ashtin join the Yellowjackets for next year and are looking forward to watching him rise through the college ranks in his collegiate career.
