BTC and GU Athletics Partner Up to "Gold Out" Lamoni

Lamoni, IA - Graceland Athletics and BTC Bank have partnered up in an effort to show their commitment to the local schools, the University and the community of Lamoni.

BTC and Graceland have spent the last couple of weeks handing out free t-shirts to the Lamoni school district and its staff as well as hosting a "Gold Out" at the GU basketball games on February 13th.

The partnership between the two Lamoni main-stays has allowed each to show the community it truly cares through its out-reach efforts.

Lamoni elementary principal Andy Peterson spoke about the positive impact the connection has made on its students.

"We appreciate the partnership we have with Graceland University and BTC Bank," remarked Peterson. "The students were very excited to have both of them at our assembly and they were even more excited to get the shirts.

"It's tangible proof to our students that Graceland and BTC Bank really care about them," added Peterson.

Following the elementary assembly, Graceland athletics rewarded t-shirts to the districts junior high and high school students and staff during a "PRIDE" assembly which promotes Practicing self-control, Respecting yourself, others and property, Identifying safe choices, Demonstrating responsibility and Exceling in all you do.

The two community events culminated in last Thursday's "Gold Out" night basketball games against Peru State College. Free t-shirts were handed out to community members and GU students during the event.

In total, GU Athletics and BTC Bank have handed out over 1500 t-shirts throughout the community.

"We have been very pleased with the BTC Bank/Graceland Athletics partnership and the opportunity it provided us to spend time with some great young people in the Lamoni Schools," said GU athletic director Jeff Falkner.

"More than anything we want all of our young people to know that we care about them, their futures and the future of this wonderful community we live in."

BTC Bank Lamoni Branch President Kevin Lloyd has long been an advocate of the local school systems and and community of Lamoni. Lloyd has been a key cog in the partnership between BTC and Graceland since its inception.

"BTC Bank loves giving back to the communities we serve," said Lloyd about the partnership. "By donating to our local schools and university, we invest in our future and the prosperity of our communities."
