Mens Golf Season Outlook

Men: The Yellowjacket team looks to recover from the loss of another outstanding player. Finding someone to fill the shoes of the graduating Matt Mickelson will be difficult. However, there is significant experience on the Yellowjacket squad. There are several seniors on the team.

Seniors returning are Trent Ranney (Lamoni, IA), Tim Redding (Grand River, IA), Mikhail Ziskos (East York, ONT), Ryan Martin (Pella, IA), and Dylan Rasmussen (Sydney, IA). These five seniors have high hopes of leading the Yellowjackets to an impressive finish for the year.

Tim and Trent will be leading the efforts with their consistent play and quality shot making. Both will need to provide consistent play and leadership if the team is to make a run at winning tournaments.

Mikhail will provide a consistent score and will need to keep his scores low. If Mikhail can add another score in the 70s then the team will be competitive.

Ryan will need to bring his best game to help the team succeed. If Ryan becomes a consistent performer then he will impact the Yellowjackets with his positive play.

Dylan finishes his career at Graceland and has the talent to play the game. If he puts in the time and effort into his game he could contribute to the top five.

Returning junior Tanner Gard (Independence, MO) is recovering from missing a season do to back surgery. Tanner will be back and ready to play. Look for Tanner to make improvement in his game and be ready for improved scores.

Sophomore Jon Bowman (Dexter, MO) returns after a good season his freshmen year. Jon made the top five last year and he looks to stay on the top five again this year where he expected to contribute to the team score in tournaments and help the Yellowjackets in a conference title run.

Sophomore Ty Lysinger (Blue Springs, MO) continues to show improvement and his long term efforts will provide dividends to the team.

Sophomore Matt Miller (Malvern, IA) will be playing in his first season with the Yellowjackets. Matt hits the ball a long way and if he can keep his focus he will be challenging for one of the top five positions on the team. Look for Matt to be a factor in the success of the Yellowjackets.

Freshmen Andrew Moffat (Brantford, ONT) rounds out the team and eagerly awaits the opportunity to give the Yellowjackets a boost next year.

As a team the Yellowjackets have the potential to be conference champions but it will be up to the senior leadership provided and the desire to get the job done.
