Lamoni, IA - The football program has added a new recruit for the 2012 campaign, this time its Joel Hartstack who signed on the dotted line for next season's squad.

Hartstack hails from Clarinda, Iowa where the incoming freshman played four years of football, three years of baseball and two seasons of golf.

During his time at Clarinda High School, the 6-foot-2 left guard garnered an All-District Honorable Mention and Most Valuable Lineman. Also during his time as a Cardinal, the 240 lb. blocker played each position of the offensive line, including left and right guard on the defensive side of the ball.

"Joel brings great versatility to the line," said head coach Jeff Douglas. "We're very excited that Joel chose to continue his education at Graceland."

Hartstack, the son of Pam and David, plans to major in Athletic Training where he looks to continue his Honor Roll nomination in the classroom at GU.
