Marshall, MO - The Jackets fell 74-46 this afternoon as a 28.1 shooting percentage doomed GU to its second consecutive loss.

Graceland (8-7, 3-6 HAAC) held strong through the first half, answering each of the challenges offered by the Vikings.

Missouri Valley College (8-10, 4-4 HAAC) jumped out to an early 11-8 lead, which was quickly cut to a one-point lead as Florida Siaosi, returning from her one-game hiatus, hit one of her five field goals on the afternoon.

With 12:12 remaining, Jamie Whitfield hit a putback shot, tying the game for the fourth time at 13 apiece.

While the Vikings would build a six point lead close to half, the Jackets were able to trim the lead to two on a Siaosi three-point opportunity. Siaosi converted, but a Missouri Valley field goal with eight seconds remaining built the home lead back to four as the teams entered the intermission.

Siaosi led all scorers with 11 in the first half along with a game-high seven rebounds.

Playing with a short bench is difficult for any squad, and Graceland was no exception this evening. The host squad started the second half on a 19-4 run, which put away any GU hope of sticking around deep into the contest.

The Vikings built the lead to a game-high 29 point lead as Graceland found themselves down 64-35 with 5:21 remaining in the game. The Jackets held tough as the final horn sounded as the visitors traded points with Missouri Valley in the final five minutes of the contest, ultimately falling 74-46.

"We started out the game well, but came out flat in the second half," noted head coach Rich Harrop. "We committed 22 turnovers which killed us. Florida had a nice game for us but we need to figure out a way to get more players scoring."

Siaosi finished the game with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Kelsey Quirarte added six points and four rebounds.

The Jackets will look to return to the win column when it hosts Benedictine College on Thursday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. in Lamoni.
