Forest City, IA – The men's golf team met six other squads on the links for the Waldorf Invitational, and with a strong showing by the five man fleet, took a fourth place finish for the day (327).
The conditions of the day were less than ideal with rain, coupled with wind to make for a windy day.
Iowa Lakes Community College performed outstandingly shooting a 305 for the Invite to land them in first, with Waldorf's squad (Black) shooting a 311 earning them the second place finish.
The Yellowjackets were lead by Tim Brunner who came alive in this competition. Brunner shot a 76 for the day placing him in a four way tie for fourth. Right behind Brunne,r Logan Currin had a very strong showing tallying a 78 to close out the Invite. Following Currin was Steven Shaw with an 83, and Jordan Lester (90) and Carter Wiley (91) rounding out the squad.
You won't have too many more opportunities to catch your men's golf team in action, as there only are two more chances to watch. First you'll have the opportunity to see them competing during Homecoming weekend Friday October 13th on their home course in Lamoni, followed by the two day Baker Invitational October 18th and 19th in Lawrence, KS.
