GALENA, IL - As day two comes to a close at the Clarke University's Fall Classic, Graceland's men's golf program finishes in eighth of the nine competing teams, posting a two day score of 680 (339-341).
Today William Penn University shot an incredible day inching ahead of St. Ambrose University taking first. William Penn shot 632 (327-305), while St. Ambrose shot 637 (315-322). However St. Ambrose still earns medalist honors with tied top two golfers Devin Hartman who shot a 155 (77-78) and Dylan Daxon who shot a 155 (76-79).
For Graceland's fleet of five golfers, Mark Fink led the way tied for 15th. Fink shot a combined 162 for the two day Fall Classic (79-83). Bryce McEachern (T24) tallied an 89 on day one of competition and an stronger 79 on day two combining for a 168 two day total. Following closly behind McEachern was Jordan Lester who recorded a 170 (87-83) which allowed him to finish tied for 27th.
Logan Currin and Tim Brunner rounded out the group of five for Graceland. Currin and Brunner both had a stronger first day than the second. Currin shot 180 for both days posting an 84 for day one and a 96 for the second day. Round one Brunner finished with 92 on his score card, and round two posted a 104 combining for a 196.
"This entire meet has been a great learning experience for us," said Kevin Brunner, head golf coach. " We have lots of room to grow as a team and look forward to the next time we take to the course as a team."
