GALENA, IL – The Eagle Ridge Resort plays host to Clarke University's Fall Classic where nine teams battle on the links. At the end of day one, Graceland University's men's golf program finishes in the seventh place (339) of nine. St. Ambrose sits in first (315) having shot a strong day and boasting the top three golfers in the Classic.
St. Ambrose's Dylan Daxon (76) and Devin Hartman (77) sit comfortably in the one and two spot, however that can't stay too comfortable as Graceland's Mark Fink is tied for third shooting a 79 for the first day.
Graceland's other golfers, looked to aid Fink's efforts. Logan Currin currently sits tied for 25th having shot an 84. Close behind Currin is Jordan Lester who posted an 87 for day one landing him tied for the 33rd spot. After Lester we find Bryce McEachem shooting an 89 today. The final golfer rounding out Graceland's program at Clarke University's Fall Classic is Tim Brunner, tallying a 92.
"We had a nice day to play some golf, even if it was a little warm," remarked Kevin Brunner, head golf coach. "All-in all today was a good learning experience for us, as this course is where the conference tournament will be held in the spring. We are looking forward to what tomorrow's competition brings,"
Graceland will continue with day two of the Clarke Fall Classic on Sept. 23.
