Marion, IA – Graceland's men's golf team ended the Mt. Mercy Invitational in tenth place of the 16 teams that competed.
Graceland put on a strong effort, posting a two-day total of 626. Indian Hills Community College took the invitational with a two-day mark of 583, Kirkwood Community College and Mt. Mercy (B) tied for second both posting a team score of 599.
Indian Hills Community College takes the top two spots on the player leader board. Julien Sale shooting six under tallying a two-day scorecard of 138 (69-69), with Ricky Sanders jumped up five spots on the leader board shooting even for the course with a 144 (73-71).
Graceland's own Bryce McEachern tied for seventh, boasting a 148 (74-74), which put him at four over par. Mark Fink landed as Graceland's second golfer in the invitational. Fink turned in scores of 77 and 78 (155), placing him 11 over par.
Graceland's remaining three golfers in the invitational were Logan Currin, Steven Shaw, and Blake Rose. Currin fell into the 41st position, to tie with five other golfers marking a 158 for the two-day event (76-82). Shaw added a 166, while Rose added a 180.
The men's golf team will next compete at the Graceland Invite on Sept. 14.
