"Coach Wilson is the final part of our full time staff," said Kolb. "He brings in several years of Heart of America experience and knowledge of our conference opponents which is a tremendous benefit. He is another well-rounded coach who had coached multiple positions on defense and recruited very well in some of our primary recruiting areas. We are excited to have Marc Wilson and his family become part of the Graceland University football family!"
Wilson arrives at Graceland from Heart of America Athletic rival Avila University. With the Eagles, he served as the defensive coordinator and coached the linebackers, working to improve the defense in all seven major statistical markers.
Before Avila, Wilson served as the head football coach at Missouri Military Academy for three seasons. He also served as the defensive coordinator at Oklahoma Panhandle State University (NCAA DII), and three seasons as the defensive coordinator with the River City Rage (St. Louis) from the Arena League.
He also has served as a coach for the US National Football team and as a Master Trainer for USA Football.
Wilson has coached four NCAA DII All-Americans, and also has multiple former players playing professionally, mostly in Europe and in the Arena League.
"The opportunity to join the Graceland University coaching staff is one that myself and family are very excited about," said Wilson. "I want to thank Coach Kolb and Graceland for giving me the opportunity to continue to coach in the Heart, and build upon the change that is here at Graceland."
Wilson, a former All-Academic SEC football player at the University of Kentucky, earned a degree in Exercise Physiology. He lettered his final two seasons after walking on for his first two seasons. Wilson holds a masters in Sports Psychology from the University of the Rockies.
Coach Wilson and his wife, Amy, have three children, Nick, Blake and Abagail.
