LAWRENCE, KS - Graceland University women's golf team continues to make strides following the Baker University Invite.
The Yellowjackets did not record a team score. The invite was won by Columbia College with a total of 658. Grand View took second (663), while Baker finished in third (686).
Head Coach Kevin Brunner said, "The women did a good job in tough conditions. Wind gusts on the first day were over 30 mph. I was pleased with how everyone played. It is still frustrating for all of us to not have a complete team, but they are competing and presenting the school very well. Each of them are making strides on their games. I am proud of the whole team for their effort."
Graceland was led by Hannah Gordon who tied for 14th after starting the second day tied for 17th. She improved by seven stroke on day two, to turn in a two-day total of a 177 (92-85).
The second golfer, Julia Austin ended the day in 19th, turning in a 93 and 93 to total a 186. The last golfer, Jenna Cole withdrew after the first day, as she was not feeling well at the beginning of the round.
