Jacksonville, IL - The Graceland indoor track and field teams competed in the Heart of America Conference Indoor Championships this weekend in Jacksonville, IL.
The Graceland men finished in seventh place with a team score of 58 points, while the women took sixth place with a team score of 71.5 points.
Morgan Choate got the first points of the day for GU with a seventh place finish in the women's 60m hurdles final. Tirrell Brooks then finished in sixth place for the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.81.
Montae Spiller picked up another five points for the men with a fourth place result in the men's 60m dash, running 7.02.
In the men's 3000m race walk, Chris Welch finished sixth with a time of 19:17.56.
Kami Tabor is the women's conference champion for the 800m run with a time of 2:19.78. Tabor also finished in second place for the 1000m run with 3:07.66.
In the Pole Vault, the GU women grabbed four of the eight scoring positions as Claire Andrews (3.12m), Amy Gully (2.97m), Maleta Montague (2.82m) and Joy Bragg (2.82m) finished second, third, and fifth (tie) respectively.
Lashanda Yates took seventh place for the women's long jump with a leap of 4.94m. Yates also finished in fifth place for the women's high jump (1.47m).
Brooks (1.86m) and Stanley Thomas (1.81m) finished sixth and seventh in the men's high jump.
In the men's heptathlon, Donavan Switalski finished seventh with an overall score of 3560.
The Track and Field teams will have their last chance to qualify for nationals next weekend in Colombia, MO as they compete at the University of Missouri.
