Gulf Shores, AL - The men's and women's track and field team competed in Day 2 of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship today.
Tirrell Brooks earned All-American honors by placing 8th in the men's long jump competition.
Montae Spiller ran a 10.91 to place 30th in the 100 meter dash.
Julian White had to scratch from the decathlon competition after entering the day in 5th place.
"It was a tough day with the humidity and heat," commented sprint and jumps coach Jeff Johannes. "Tirrell still had some pretty good jumps. It was another year where he has shown that he is one of the best in the Nation. Next year he has a very good shot at becoming a National Champion."
"Montae looked very good in the 100," continued Johannes. "He looked like he would finish 3rd in his heat until he re-injured his foot at the end of the race. I can see him coming here every year."
Paul Hill will be the lone participant for the Yellowjackets on the final day. Hill is scheduled to compete in the Paul Vault competition beginning at 1:00pm.
