"We had to battle some cold conditions this weekend which hindered a lot of our performances," commented head coach Reece Vega. "Even though it was a fantastic meet with great competition, we were not able to get as many person records as we would have liked because of the weather. Paul Hill continued his high end vaulting with another national qualifying jump which bumped up his national ranking. Cedric Shell hit a big personal record in both the triple jump and the 200."
"We now go into conference where we will look to get both teams in the top 3. We have a majority of the team that has qualified to run events there and we are excited to see how we will do."
The track and field teams will now prepare for the Heart of America Conference meet which will take place next Friday and Saturday, May 6/7 in Des Moines, IA.
