Pena, before getting injured, paced Graceland with an impressive .349 batting average (.373 in conference) and 22 RBIs. Additionally, the GU slugger had 37 hits, 11 doubles, one triple and two homeruns.
Lopez, a left-handed closer for the Jackets, pitched in 12 games, a total of 21.1 innings. Samuel ended the season with a 2.53 ERA and a record of 2-1 with two saves.
Named to the second team was senior first baseman, Euddi Ortega and senior catcher, Chase Kuehl. Ortega posted strong numbers with a batting average of .338, 46 base hits (16 doubles, one triple and four homeruns) and 34 RBIS while Kuehl had a batting average of .297, 43 hits and 28 RBIs.
Couch also earned honors as the third baseman on the Rawlings Gold Glove Team for his defensive efforts.
